Guest Biography

Tony Peyton joined NCFL in 1997 and is responsible for directing NCFL’s policy and advocacy activities and tracks federal and state legislation that pertains to family literacy. He also oversees NCFL’s federally funded projects. Prior to joining NCFL, Tony conducted issue research for the Kentucky Center for Public Issues (KCPI) in Frankfort, Kentucky and worked for Congressman Norman Sisisky (VA-4).  He also has worked on various political campaigns in Kentucky, Virginia, and Alabama.  Tony is on National Board of Advisors for the Goodling Institute for Research in Family Literacy at Penn State University, the Board of the Collaborative Center for Literacy Development at the University of Kentucky and serves as chair of the national GED Testing Service Advisory Board. Tony received his Masters degree from the University of Louisville.
